Shalyn Retrievers is a small, performance oriented kennel located in Smithfield, Virginia. My goal is to produce healthy sound Flat Coat and Labrador Retrievers that excel in breed type, temperament, structure, and soundness in addition to possessing trainability, intelligence and suitability as good family companions.

I only breed one litter every couple of years with the objective to produce pups that excel in conformation and performance. My goal is to improve the breed and to continue my own breeding program with outstanding retrievers that are true representatives of the breed standard. I have puppies available at these times to appropriately screened and approved homes. I stress the importance of health and screen all of my dogs for health clearances (hips, eyes, elbows, patellas and cardiac) prior to breeding. Puppies are raised in my home and are exposed and socialized at an early age. I only keep a few retrievers to train, show and occasionally raise a litter.
